RUPERT, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Voices Against Violence hosted its first-ever Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event in the Mini-Cassia area, which attracted participants from all over the state.
Historic Rupert Square was crowded by a group of people showing their support to those who have been victims of sexual abuse or sexual assault.
They had multiple guest speakers who were victims or had experiences with sexual assault cases. There were cardboard cutouts with statistics about sexual abuse and assault on them.
The event marks the first time Voices Against Violence has held its annual event, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, outside of Twin Falls.
This event is not only to honor those who have been victims but also to bring more awareness about it and show people that are affected resources they have.
If you are or know anyone who is experiencing abuse or sexual assault, contact local law enforcement and Voices Against Violence at 208-733-0100.
