Rupert Police Department

Drunk Driving is a serious crime and is never okay...

 Driving with a breath/blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08 is illegal in every state. The legal limit is .02 for minors driving under the influence and .04 for driving a commercial vehicle under the influence. To date, for the year 2010, the Rupert Police Department has arrested 20 adults for driving under the influence in the City of Rupert .

Much of the tragedy that comes from impaired driving crashes could be prevented if everyone would take these few simple precautions:

•  Whenever you plan on consuming alcohol, designate a sober driver before going out and give that person your keys;

•  If you are impaired, call a taxi or a sober friend or family member to get you home safely;

•  Promptly report drunk drivers you see on the roads to law enforcement; and

•  Remember – Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Drunk. If you know someone who is about to drive while impaired, take their keys and help them make other arrangements to get where they are going safely.
