Idaho Industry, Development and Community - Departments - Streets

The Street Department is in charge of a wide range of activities necessary to maintain 120 miles of streets.

Normal applications include surface repair such as overlay, crack sealing, chip sealing, street sweeping, and patching.

The Street Maintenance Department has seven full-time employees.

From April to October, three temporary labor positions are filled.

This Department is also responsible for maintenance of all the City parks. Including mowing, spraying, and watering.

Another of the major responsibilities of the Street Department is to ensure public safety during winter months by sanding and plowing the streets.

In addition, they also respond to many types of emergency calls year round.
