CITY COUNCIL

TODD MCGHIE

Goals while serving on city council are:

•  To maintain openness and transparency between the council and community

•  To establish a recreation program that not only provides activities for children but also prepares them for higher levels of play.

•  To maintain a safe and unencumbered work environment for city employees that will encourage productivity through creativity, and will ultimately provide a feeling of “ownership” for the part the employee plays in the community they serve.

Goals already accomplished while serving on council:

•  The implementing of the “Annual Town Hall Meeting”.

•  The return of girls live pitch softball to our recreation program.

•  The establishing of the “Financial oversight committee”.

•  The return of citizens attending bi-monthly council meetings.

Community events participated in:

•  Sat on committee to and participated in 3 Annual POW/MIA recognition events, and placed a monument in the square.

•  Participate in Annual Caring and Sharing Christmas Tree Festival of Trees by “MCing” for part of the show as well as being “Santa” for the event.

•  Participant in “Summer in the Park”.

•  Outside of city council, I also created and ran a traveling fastpitch softball team. This team reaches girls ages 11-16 and is in its 3 rd yr. In addition, I am also an Assistant Coach for Minico High School.

•  Co-Chair Recreation Dept, City Shop, Police Dept, and Water Dept.
