Rupert Wastewater Department

The Wastewater department is no stranger to recycling, the waste process turns incoming wastewater to nutrient rich irrigating for farmers and residents that have access to low pressure irrigation.

The City of Rupert Wastewater Department infrastructure consists of approximately 44 miles of collection lines. With sizes varying from 8" to 24".

Rupert also has 18 lift stations that it maintains.

Rupert treats it wastewater by extended aeration and then the wastewater is sent to facultative lagoons. Rupert's lagoons are approximately 232 acres.

Once the water has gone through the biological process it is land applied by 3 center pivots.

The land under the pivots is farmed with various crops such as alfalfa, grain, beans and sugar beets.
